Retrieving vehicles from an impound lot has traditionally been a task that requires face-to-face contact and paperwork. This way of doing things is no longer necessary. Locomobi World’s Outpound impound lot software system makes it possible for drivers to gain authorized access to impound lots and retrieve their vehicles, all via a cloud-based app.

When a car is impounded, obviously it must be kept safe and the owner must only be allowed to retrieve it if authorized to do so. With Outpound, access and authorization becomes a simple matter of logging onto the dispatch system in the cloud, entering the details of the relevant driver, and granting them access to the lot. Drivers can pay, gain pedestrian access to the lot and leave in their vehicle with ease – all while the safety and security of the lot itself are ensured and safeguarded against unauthorized access or tailgating.

Your Outpound solution is linked to your impound lot and its entrances and exits. In order to gain authorization to collect their cars from your lot, drivers must first call a designated number (generated when we set up the system for you) to start the process. The self-service option will trigger an SMS to be sent to the driver, providing them with a form to fill out. That SMS also serves to validate the driver’s phone number. The form asks simple, but fairly detailed questions about the car, so as to ensure positive proof that the car does actually belong to the individual in question. The driver must then scan their ID and take a photo of themselves. The new photo must match the one that is on the ID. Advanced fraud checks are then done, and the authenticated driver is then taken to the payment platform.

Once payment is completed, the entrance to the pound unlocks automatically, while the camera system ensures that only that particular driver enters the lot. The driver can then pick up their vehicle and leave.
